چکیده
Anonymous Referee #1 Review of the paper “Systematic comparison of dust BSC-DREAM8b modeled profileswith Potenza EARLINET lidar database“ by L. Mona et al. This is an interesting and relevant paper describing the ability of the dust model BSC-DREAM8b 8b to represent the vertical distribution of Saharan dust in southern Italy. The evaluation is done with a large set of aerosol extinction and backscatter profiles measured with a Raman lidar system at Potenza, Italy. This is a well suited and the best data set that is currently available for such a comparison of modeled and measured dust profiles. A general difficulty of comparing optical data to modeled mass density profiles is the conversion of one of the quantities into the other. I am missing a discussion and, if possible, a quantification of the related uncertainties.

Peer Reviewers’ Comments on Research Articles Submitted by Iranian Researchers
The invisible hands of peer reviewers play a determining role in the eventual fate of submissions to international English-medium journals. This study builds on the assumption that non-native researchers and prospective academic authors may find the whole strive for publication, and more specifically, the tough review process, less threatening if they are aware of journal reviewers’ expectation...
متن کاملWe Need Action on Social Determinants of Health – but Do We Want It, too?; Comment on “Understanding the Role of Public Administration in Implementing Action on the Social Determinants of Health and Health Inequities”
Recently a number of calls have been made to mobilise the arsenal of political science insights to investigate – and point to improvements in – the social determinants of health (SDH), and health equity. Recently, in this journal, such a rallying appeal was made for the field of public administration. This commentary argues that, although scholarly potential should justifiably be redirected to ...
متن کاملAssessing the Health Impact of Trade: A Call for an Expanded Research Agenda; Comment on “The Trans-Pacific Partnership: Is It Everything We Feared for Health?”
Labonté et al provide an insightful analysis of the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) and its impact on a selection of important health determinants. Their work confirms concerns raised by previous analyses of leaked drafts and offers governments serious and timely reasons to carefully consider provisions of the agreement prior to moving forward with ratification. It also contributes more general...
متن کاملResponsibilising Managers and Clinicians, Neglecting System Health? What Kind of Healthcare Leadership Development Do We Want?; Comment on “Leadership and Leadership Development in Healthcare Settings - A Simplistic Solution to Complex Problems?”
Responding to Ruth McDonald’s editorial on the rise of leadership and leadership development programmes in healthcare, this paper offers three arguments. Firstly, care is needed in evaluating impact of leadership development, since achievement of organisational goals is not necessarily an appropriate measure of good leadership. Secondly, the proliferation of styles of leadership might be unders...

Switching to English for a while, I want to thank Anton, for being my promotor and for forcing me each year to think about my goals of next year. I want to thank the members of my committee as well, for taking the time to read and comment on this thesis which has an astoundingly little amount of pictures. Next, I want to thank the members of the project I have been working on: SE-MAINE. Marc, y...
